Frequently asked questions
What age is it for?
It is made for the App Store's Kids category, ages 5 and under (rated 4+). The child's screens have no words, so children who cannot read yet can play with pictures and voices. It is meant to be played with a parent sitting beside the child and helping.
Does it cost anything?
It is free. There are no ads and no in-app purchases.
Can we play without an internet connection?
Yes. The App never connects to the internet. Everything works in aeroplane mode, so you can play on the move or on holiday.
Do you collect any information about my child?
No. The App collects no names, email addresses, location, device identifiers or usage data, and sends nothing anywhere. There are no accounts. See the Privacy Policy for details.
What is the camera used for?
Only to take a picture of your child's drawing and put it on a plane's tail in the hangar. The photo is used on the device only, is never sent anywhere and is not saved to the photo library. Everything else works without the camera, and the permission can be changed at any time in the device's Settings.
Where are the parent settings?
Press and hold the small gear at the bottom right of the home screen for 3 seconds. There you can choose the difficulty and find the credits (music and voices) and TenStella's other apps. The screens children use have no links out of the App.
Will my child be disappointed if it goes wrong?
There is no failing, no game over and no time limit; bumping into something just wobbles and goes back. On every difficulty the trip always ends, with nothing to make a child feel let down. A parent chooses easy, normal or hard in the parent settings. On easy, part of the points are still given when a parent helps.
Can we play in English?
The child's screens have no words, and the voices are in Japanese. On a device that is not set to Japanese, the parent screens are in English and English subtitles of the voices are shown (they can be turned off in the parent settings).
Does it work on iPad?
Yes. It works on iPhone and iPad.
Where is my child's progress saved?
Stamps and stickers collected, planes built and the settings a parent chose are stored on the device only. Deleting the App deletes them too.
